The Client

The Hyatt Regency London – The Churchill is situated in London’s West End and radiates authentic sophisticated British charm. Designed in tribute to Sir Winston Churchill, the hotel showcases refined décor, bespoke tailoring and hints of his life and legacy. Located in upper end Marylebone, the hotel overlooks Portman Square and is just a stone’s throw away from Hyde Park and buzzing Oxford Street.

The Project

Edward Baden had a requirement for the removal of old furniture and installation of new furniture and fixtures in 460 hotel rooms and club lounges over an eight-phase project. The team were also entrusted to manage and act as liaison between the hotel and the European furniture manufacturers. Edward Baden collated the correct quantities of furniture and furnishings for each phase of the refurbishment as well as arranged for the collection of the furniture from the European manufacturers.

The Solution

As the different room types within the Hyatt hotel had to be furnished distinctively and individually, the Edward Baden team devised a plan to precisely collate the correct quantities of furniture and furnishing for each hotel room. The Edward Baden team devised a plan to smoothly manage and carry out the removal of old hotel furniture to make way for the new furniture in 460 hotel rooms and club lounges over an eight-phase project. We assigned our highly skilled project supervisor who tasked a special team to work closely with the European manufacturers to order and arrange for the safe delivery of goods.

The Process

The project supervisor managed three different specialised team of experts. The first team of storage experts were tasked to work closely with the European manufacturers to order and arrange for the safe delivery of goods. While, the second team were in charge of the removal of old furniture and fittings from 460 hotel rooms and club lounges. The third team were assigned to install the majority of new furniture and furnishings on a staged refurbishment programme. The first team worked together to collate the correct quantities of furniture and furnishings and arranged for the collection and delivery of the products from the European manufacturers. The team were responsible for checking all delivery notes against corresponding quantities of goods and also checking the goods to confirm if they had been received in good condition at our storage facility. The second team were responsible for the clearance and removal of old furniture from 460 hotel rooms and club lounges. The team worked on dismantling the furniture and loaded them onto our removal lorries for environmentally friendly disposal. Concurrently, once the old furniture had been cleared the third team of installers worked on installing the new furniture and furnishings ensuring the rooms were furnished accordingly to the different room types based on the style and distinctive décor of each room.
